Evelin Garcia – Amazonia Indigenous Women’s Fellowship Program

Evelin Garcia, a member of Bolivia’s Monkox Chiquitano community, is working to revive her people’s traditional knowledge and use of medicinal plants.

#Indigenouswomen play a vital role in the preservation and transmission of traditional knowledge. Evelin, with support from the Amazonia Indigenous Women’s Fellowship, is creating a cycle of learning that will help ensure this important knowledge is shared for generations to come.

The Amazonia Indigenous Women’s Fellowship program, an initiative of Our Future Forests–Amazonia Verde project, supports Indigenous women leaders and the key roles they play in local, national and regional conservation decision-making processes.
